What to do with a no longer functioning braille note Apex?

When I have old technology that can no longer be fixed, I tend to take it apart. You could learn a lot about how something was built and how it works. You could look into the possibility of getting it refurbished, maybe by somebody who knows how to fix old braille notes, but I am unsure if there is anyone with that specialty. If you're curious, I would recommend taking an afternoon to get the thing open and look at all of the different parts. It could be quite fun and you would learn a lot.

Take it to a E waste dump site because it has lithium ion battery which is illegal to throw away in the general trashcan/garbage
