That's what I usually do is my roast at the beginning. I brown it on top of the stove to sear it, and then I move it into either the crockpot or another pot on top of the stove. I cook it for about the same amount of time, and it does fall off the bone. I also make my own gravy. There's no way I'm buying it. Homemade gravy is unbeatable! Enjoy your meal. Do you put any vegetables in it? Sometimes I add carrots and peas.
