i know how that feels but on social media sighted people act like there so interested in what i got to say, but when it comes to one on one chat they ignore me.

Whenever I go to places with a lot of sighted people, they approach me and greet me, but then they quickly walk away. They seem disinterested in socializing with me, especially in gatherings where people are mingling and interacting. It’s quite frustrating, and I often find myself isolated in the corner because people don’t seem to want to engage in conversations. They simply greet me and then disappear. Sometimes it’s challenging to fit in, but when I’m surrounded by other blind people, it becomes easier.

Seeing my husband being rejected after going blind was hard for me. I have the same problem. In my area, I was pretty famous for my performing. I don't do that anymore, so I'm just a blind lady. I was also the only white girl in my neighborhood, so I was the white blind lady. Your assessment is very interesting, and you need to keep speaking out.

Wow, I am finding out from this group that the experiences that one of my friends has experienced as a blind person, of being left places, are more common than I realized. What is wrong with people?! At least I'm finding out from this group that most of the time it's unintentional, but still!
