He does sound a little pissed off in that message he posted kind of like a hostage video vibe

Another interesting conttrast between Ramblio and Vorail is how quickly folks jumped on Josh simply for taking the weekend off, while Tom R disappears for nearly a year and not a single Vorail kid dared asked him where he was or what’s up with not having any upgrades in nearly three years. These are the types of questions that need asking, not the fake, smiley bullshit being tossed around without getting to the real point! When will someone ask Tom a serious question like, “Is Apple investigating Vorail?!

I don’t know this for certain, but it seems like Tom R has come out of the woodwork in response to your activism. He’s been gone for so long I can’t imagine any other explanation. It seems like slapping together a version for Alexa might be a way to meet some minimum standard being imposed. What’s your take?

I sincerely believe that my follow up complaint to Apple, which compelled them to assign an actual Apple representative to the case is what is starting to make things move. I believe Apple has contacted Tom and informed him of the multiple problems and issues that had been reported and that ultimately this is his way of distorting or distracting people’s focus from the real issue at hand, which is whether or not the app is viable

I also believe that Tom Oz reference to an Alexis skill is a result of the knowledge that if indeed Apple pulls the app based on these allegations, they will also revoke his developers account, which means he won’t be able to upload any apps at all on the Apple platform Folks on the app have been begging Tom or for fixes and new features. Instead, he wants to split the app up in the two types and simplify. It makes no sense at all, but is a distraction from what’s really likely to come

Is the Alexis skill what he is calling simple vorail? That’s my understanding.

@Dan26: Since he mentioned converting the app’s code into Swift, I imagine he’s talking about another app and not necessarily the Alexa skill. If he is however kicked out of Apple’s Developers program, then looking to Alexa would be an alternate platform upon which he could continue to do business. All of this is a distraction though since the real question is not what kind of Vorail is in the future, but what’s the deal with the Vorail of today and why is it in the state it’s in and finally, what’s going to be done about it?

People listening to Tom R’s voice should also be mindful of the fact that it sounds very much like a clone of his voice and that he’s probably using AI generated answers rather than giving you the ones really from his heart. It’s all a distraction to stall folks stop playing the games.

Yes, he is completely into the AI bullshit. When I exchanged messages with him on his app about privacy and AI training and letting people delete and control their own accounts, it became very clear very quickly that he has bought the farm on the whole Silicon Valley libertarian bullshit

Here’s the link to the Vorail Investigative Report posted on the Apple Vis website. This report asks the real questions and is what those on Vorail should be concerned about; not, “Vorail For Dummies! https://www.applevis.com/forum/accessibility-advocacy/vorail-investigative-report

This is for others, if you'd like to see the privacy policy for Vorail, visit https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Gj1qwU5CDfrlHR_ll8cyRlhw6TA2ED4JXagBwDtOlu4/edit?usp=drivesdk

@Robert: You should inform the people that the link you provided does not go to the Vorail website and is nearly eight years old. I believe the link you’ve provided is found on the Apple Vis site and not on vorail.com which IMO makes the placement of the policy on an alternate site suspect.

For example, the Ramblio Privacy Policy can be found on the Ramblio website; not on an entirely different website with a link to google docs which seems quite unprofessional and a bit shady.

Yeah, good point blinky! I’m not sure why that document wasn’t converted to HTML, but it could easily be done, but that was the most up-to-date privacy policy I could locate and it was not on the web site either. It would actually be trivially easy for Tom or anybody on his team to convert that to HTML and put it on the website. Why it’s not on the website, I have no clue

Are they still charging people five dollars a month to be on there
Loading reactions…
@Dremy: Yes, Tom R charges $5 per month for current users. For new users who subscribe to his “Simple Vorail,” he actually plans to double the price to $10!

The Privacy Policy to Vorail in the App Store goes to a blank page on vorail.com while the Support page goes to Apple Vis rather than the official Vorail website itself. This is not the behavior of a Developer being transparent.
