I still don’t know, I don’t pay attention to that.

Yes, because it is relatable because all of us deal with many of the same issues and some people deal with them better than I do so it is a learning experience. Most of the time I am around sighted people so I enjoy the perspectives here and also there is much good conversation not dealing with blindness here as well.

I was not asking you to judge hot coffee, but just wondering if you thought the topic of blindness will come up more with a certain group of people.

Eddie, I don’t know and frankly I don’t care because I don’t judge blind people according to who they hang with.

hot coffee quick question for you please. Do you think that those who bring up the blind topic the most are the blind people that mainly hang out with other blind individuals, and do you think that those who hang out with sighted individuals mostly did not bring it up as much?

Sorry for the typos, and misspellings towards the end. I just dictated it, and hit send instead of delete to correct the improper grammar.

Mystic if we do not talk about it, and someone else will talk about it for us. I'm willing to gamble that all of us have gone out somewhere with friends, family, loved ones, coworkers or other people who are used to us being blind and not talking about it! Except there is that one person always says how remarkable it is that we are doing what we are doing blindly, and then this person completely just fucks up our state of mind! We were not thinking about that we were blind for a single bit, nor or any of those people that see past the blindness! It's always some outsider it just cannot believe that a blind person can do something that a side person can clearly do if they were drunk! We still decided people that "if you could do a drunk, then you could do a blind!"

Sometimes. Many of us feel safe talking about blindness stuff with other blind folks because folks who are not blind couldn’t relate. But look at the other topics here. A lot of it isn’t blindness stuff at all. Sometimes, if you don’t like the conversation, you might perhaps want to introduce topics you’re interested in and see who participates.

No! They also talk about how stoned they are

a very interesting question, I think it can sound overpowering when conversations constantly focus on blindness or blind-related topics, especially on social media apps and online interactions. Generally, when you’re among friends, after the initial discussion about your blindness and some comparison, you just behave like a normal friend or acquaintance. But if you keep talking about being blind, blind this, blind that, then honestly, that’s a problem. I’ve also noticed that on audio-based social media apps, some blind people join conversations in chat rooms or hangout settings and immediately introduce themselves as blind instead of just talking normally and being part of the discussion. This applies to some, not all, but it is an issue I’ve noticed, as they seem unable to hold a normal conversation without seeking sympathy or some extra leniency in a sided set up.
