JBL is decent quality. Don't know about the really cheap end stuff, but the higher you go the better the quality. I have a JBL flip six which I like. That is not the top of the range one though

I have a JBL flip seven and it’s pretty good. I’m surprised it’s loud but if you want something that have more base on it you’re gonna be spending more money. They got more expensive one if you want to spend like $500 on a speaker.

Yeah if you are trying to kit out your sitting room with something that sounds really decent I would not go for the Bluetooth speaker option. Just go by a stereo system. Speakers and amplifier.
