It sounds like something people used to say back in the 90s. I never got into the habit, and it is offensive. Stupid is stupid, gay is not stupid. So to say something is gay when you mean, something is stupid is not using your words right. And someone might get offended, and they are o in the right to feel offended.  so I can understand if there is something from that time that is being listened to or watched. If you are saying it today, that is fine and Dandy, but don't expect to have close gay friends.
