🤗 oh, thanks for sharing dear. Your post was really appreciated. I'm gonna say this one thing but it's not to be negative at all. I want to first encourage you not to generalize who typically goes blind and when. Not everyone that is blind as a 20 something year-old was born that way, not everyone who's age 65 and over goes blind. Everyone's experiences are so different. You can talk to 100 different blind people and they will all have different levels of vision and every single one of their experiences will be different even if they have the same eye disorder believe it or not. so please do not generalize. We're all in this together. We all have a visual impairment and we all are here to support you. I know everyone who has left a message supports you. If you can try to find a support group for people that are visually impaired, that would be good. Some people in a group may be more familiar with how to navigate the system and may know some more resources. If you don't know what's out here and what's available, it can be hard to advocate for things that you need. But there are services available to you. And no, it will not always be this frustrating. We all experience these frustrations from time to time. I have been visually impaired for over 40 years and I still face frustration when navigating trying to get blindness related services. And I know a lot about the system by now, obviously. It happens to all of us. But we are here to support you. I wish I could say that this is exactly what you need to do and this is exactly how long it's going to take. that's not in the universe. Doesn't happen that way. You're doing a wonderful job fighting and advocating right now. It's fine to get some support with that. Feel free to DM me if you'd like for me to help find you some resources. I'm sure I probably do not live in your town but I'm pretty good at Finding resources for blind folks. And please please join in on some support groups either virtual or in person. Even if you don't get a lot of resources out of them, it's great to be around people who just get it. Blind people can do anything they want to do. We just have to do it a little differently and it takes a lot longer. But we can do it and you can do it and you can go back to school to get your masters degree. Absolutely. Absolutely. I'm here. Hit me up if you want. And keep posting. There's plenty of people who are frustrated just like you, young and old, like me, and post like this let them know that they are not alone. Thank you so much for sharing and remember that we all got you. Big hugs.

I can hear and understand your frustration. But it sounds to me that despite all the hardships that you are going through, that you are determined enough to keep going forward and that determination will be the thing that leads you to where you need it to be. And yes, things are hard I think for a vast a majority of people who are disabled and for us that have visual impairments, especially for those of us I think that our abroad and not in the US period for instance we don't always have a lot of the things that maybe minimal to you full stop meaning that we also have the same problems with organizations and we don't necessarily get any sort of financial support for any of our living expenses so that kind of holds us back in many ways. And it is hard to move forward if the only thing we can do is depend on those around us. But I'm fortunately that just how it is and with that said you can understand why people try the best they can with what they have whether that be using technology to assist them in their jobs, jobs that people might not find appealing or necessarily nice. As in social media influencers maybe other things that people find questionable and just I don't know not worthy of a job I guess.

From what I’m witnessing on the answers to your question, this is something that’s going on throughout the whole country. It’s not just where you are, but everyone who is blind is facing this kind of barrier this obstacle and to me it just goes to prove that it’s Congress again your federal government, which is failed to take care of those that need them the most. I am so glad I walked away from rehab. I just told him to close my case I didn’t think they were doing anything for me, and I was hearing complaints even from the counselors that their workload was almost impossible to handle. They were given the jobs of finding trained jobs for their clients in a situation where there were no jobs to be found, according to the counselors. So what are they supposed to do. And then intern what are we supposed to do? Question it’s a really screwed up situation and it just goes to show you how little the world cares or loves people in it.
