Hey sis, I never read the book but I did see the movie. I don't like watching movies after I've seen them and I don't like to read books after I've read them. But, the movie was quite moving. I was glad that I had seen it because I had heard so much about it But it was painful to watch. It was raw, it was real, but it was still painful. An amazing piece of art. I can't necessarily say that I liked it because of all of the tragedy but like I said, it was an amazing well written Well put together work of art. I bet the play was also amazing. I'm glad that I have the opportunity to experience the work. And you're right, women of color, black women in particular, have endured so much. And I guess for me,, to think of it, I don't really care for works that highlight are suffering. Women, since the beginning of time, have been mistreated. For black women, this is too fold. I'm not knocking the work at all. It was amazing. Like I said I'm glad I had the opportunity to experience at least the movie. But as if we don't have enough pain to deal with on a day-to-day basis, I don't want to go to the theater to sit down for two hours to watch some more of our pain on the big screen. I did not see the movie in the theater of course but I listen to it, can't remember where. Or on what platform. Thanks for sharing
