Just an FYI, the character Madame Pomphrey who is a recurring character throughout all the books, is played by transactor Rebecca Route. Now obviously that doesn't necessarily mean J. K. Rowling endorsed Rebecca, but she would have been involved, and I have to say that I do feel her position on a number of issues regarding the trans debate has, in some ways, been deliberately misunderstood and over played by activists and so on. If you read her original essay in full, which by the way, most people haven't actually done, it becomes clear that her position is a lot more nuanced than most give her credit for. It seems clear to me having read that original essay and seen follow up discussion on this, that she does not hate trans people, and believes they should be treated with respect and allowed to live, love and be free, but she does have a couple of very specific issues on the issue of women's only safe spaces in particular, due to her own experience of abuse and sexual assault, as well as millions of other women. The problem is, her position has been massively twisted and turned against her for politics and power.

Hey there, I tried to do an audio recording and it would not record, but I really loved everything you had to say! I love your views on this whole thing, I just love the world of Harry Potter in general, but I can still be disappointed in J. K. Rowling. I did listen to the first book again recently, and it actually holds up. It is loads of fun for me, it has charm, it has the original magic that captivated me so many years ago. I also read a lot of Harry Potter fanfiction with trans characters as well. Nothing will take the series away from me, but I’m gonna try not to give her any more of my money, directly, in the future
