Wow. That's deep. I want to say that if he waited until all of the children were grown it would've made it easier. But not necessarily. Because  you said that the children felt like they were losing their father. Were they??? Yes and no. I'm sure that situation was hard for everyone . I guess if it happens, it happens. People just have to deal with it. It will be an emotionally charged situation but I guess people just have to go on with their lives. There is nothing else to do. I would not think that the children should cut their father/mother Out of their lives but understandably, the relationship will look different and be different. It's amazing how complicated family dynamics can be sometimes.  and I think it made it easier to because he was not living with the children. If I understand it correctly. But, no crime was committed. No one needs to go to jail. Life is dynamic and things change. If that happened to me I would not cut my father/mother out of my life but, things would be different
