Remember, if there is a number or a zero on that reaction, that just means that is how many people used it on that particular post or comment. You can just ignore those things. Pick the one you want and react away.

When you are on the comment or the post, with one finger swipe down to reactions and double tap. This opens a list of reactions. To move through it you swipe right with one finger and it will take you to the different reactions. Once you find the one you want, double tap on it. Like bandit said it will take a little bit for that to show up on the post or the comment, but it will eventually show. Now, when you're swiping right with one finger if you wanna go back up the list you would swipe left with one finger. Should you decide you don't want to make a reaction at all, close, is at the very top of that reaction list. I hope this helps!
