Maybe delete the app and redownload it and try again. Maybe it's just glitching out for some reason.

Once you have made the changes you want you can go to the top of the screen and swipe right a few times until you hear save profile changes.

Cathy click on more at the bottom of the screen. Then go to profile. In the profile you'll find the edit button. Tap on that and just edit your profile and then save.
