Well, I certainly didn’t swallow the fluoride. I spat it out into the cup eventually and just tried to go on with the school day, but I remember clearly freezing up and the words were on the tip of my tongue. I had to make faces teacher because I didn’t want to swallow it and poison myself, and I was afraid I would but honestly they would just cry me down and say oh excuses excuses so they kind of taught me the opposite of assertiveness so that by the time I did finally learned to serve this years later in therapy. It was like what the heck why didn’t I learn this sooner? What is this stuff?

I really really hate intense pushback when you say no means no and people are like well. It doesn’t to us. Here’s how here’s why here’s our argument, etc. etc. it’s like no I already said no and I mean no I mean come on what’s with your heads

Perhaps I was seeking some validation when I was a younger adult. I can't remember. I've always been a very independent thinker. But now I'm older and I am absolutely positively not looking for validation from anyone. I am who I am and I damn sure am not changing at my age.
