I sympathize, having had to pair many devices over time myself. The time allowed for entering pairing codes is often very short, for security and battery reasons among others. I've sometimes jabbed at this by pointing out that it's not 508 compliant because Section 508 says you have to provide a means for requesting more time. But I doubt it changes soon.
