Here’s my take on the woke movement: I know people may not agree with my perspective, and I respect that everyone comes from different experiences. To me, the idea behind the movement is about recognizing people’s struggles, listening to communities that have felt ignored, and continuing the conversation about fairness and equal rights. At the same time, I understand why some people feel uncomfortable with certain parts of the movement or feel that change can sometimes happen too quickly. Those conversations are important too. I don’t believe progress comes from attacking people who disagree, but from having honest discussions while still protecting the dignity and rights of others. None of us or any movement is perfect, but I believe the goal should be creating a society where people feel respected, included, and valued.
