I was just saying that it's more than just cited people learning, or figuring out how to talk to us. I was saying that even sided people have no clue how to talk to each other anymore since all they know how to do is talk on devices
Eddie Howitzer
Hey capitain I think the original question was based on how some sided people have no idea on how to talk to us, or interact with us being blind. It just went a little off rail

Are we talking about general interactions, or being approached for a conversation?

I'm not sure that he said he cannot participate in conversation, but he just saying that there's some visual elements that he is missing out on. Which is actually true
Eddie Howitzer
Mystic Don it might be more than just that, and let me know what you think of my take and opinion on your question please. I feel that no one really knows how to talk to anyone anymore face-to-face, because people just know how to mainly communicate through their phone or devices. You can go on a date with some regular guy who you too might have some basic talking, but when you get home that person is pouring out their heart and writing you essays on his feelings and personal sentiments to you instead of talking to you face-to-face. and those people cannot even talk to a normal sided person face-to-face, how the hell are they going to know how to interact with a blind or able person?

With all due respect, Calum I disagree. Yes, we may not be able to see the visual cues; but, that doesn’t mean we can’t meaningly participate in the conversation. I think you’re selling yourself short here.
Eddie Howitzer
Calum you're absolutely right! 55% of human communication is body language, and we did not get those cues being blind.
Eddie Howitzer
That is the truth Tom, we're just blind people living in a sided world. I feel that most people who had sight and lost it would agree with me, and maybe those who never had side might disagree.

As someone who is completely blind, I think there are a lot of visual elements to a conversation that I’ll never be able to take part in, catching someone’s eye, seeing their body language to see if they’re interested in talking to me or if they seem like they want to be left alone And checking out facial expressions to see if the person I’m speaking to is still interested in the topic I’m talking about or would prefer we switched to something else. All of that can make conversations awkward.

I think it’s probably a little bit of both blind people, not knowing how to talk to sighted people and cited people not knowing how to talk to blind people.
