There's a lot of background noise and it's really hard to hear you.

I’m not going to get into politics, but I am strongly anti-war and in favour of peace and non-violence. What you said about blind people is a gross generalisation. Not seeing something does not mean we do not care about it. Empathy is not dependent on eyesight. Blind people read, listen to news, follow world events, and care deeply about human suffering like anyone else. Speaking for myself, I absolutely care about what is happening in the world. The reality is that most ordinary people—blind or sighted—have very little direct power to change global conflicts. Recognising that limit is not the same as indifference. It is simply acknowledging the scale of the problem. I also find it offensive to suggest that blindness somehow reduces empathy. Empathy comes from understanding, imagination, values, and lived experience. None of those require sight. Many of us believe the same thing: war harms civilians, destroys lives, and leaves long-term trauma. Wanting peace, diplomacy, and non-violence is not apathy—it is a commitment to a different way of resolving conflict. Please don’t assume that blind people care less about the world. We care just as much as anyone else.
