OK so I always struggle to understand the meaning of huge societal concepts like friends with benefits, marriage, going out dancing, sports. So in my mind Friends with Benefits sounds like the episode of a TV show. Like I can see one of the characters in an imaginary show going "See but he wanted friends... with benefits." and the crowd dgoing ooo. I don't want to be with anyone if they're not getting their needs met and I am emotionally literate enough to tell, and anyway if I do hook up with someone friends with benefits isn't a phrase I use. I hope this makes sense.

While friends with benefits can be great, a real mental and emotional bond is always better, at least for me. However, some guys can do a great job at pretending to be emotionally available… until they get what they want. So once I realize the game they're playing, I enjoy the moment, but I choose not to be tied down in a relationship where my emotional needs aren't being met. Some of the friends with benefits I've had over the years were great! But when those people start getting to the point where they only reach out when they need simpathy or attention, I begin to be unavailable. I'd rather invest in people who want to also invest in me. Yes, I'm probably mentally disturbed. I just don't want to be in a relationship with someone who can't really recipricate. Some would see this as settling. I see it as getting my sexual needs met, without the entanglement of carrying all the emotional weight long term.

i had a friend a long time a go that wanted too be friends with benifits and i said no because i don't think that low of myself that i would have sex with any guy with no commitments whatsoever
