I disagree with the idea that LGBTQ+ Pride is the devil. I understand that people have different beliefs and backgrounds, and I respect that some may see this issue differently. I’m not writing this to start an argument, but to share how my perspective has changed over time. I grew up around Christianity and was taught certain ways of looking at pride, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned that Pride means something different for many LGBTQ+ people. To many, it represents acceptance, dignity, and being able to live openly without shame or fear. I still wrestle with some of the things I was taught growing up, because changing your perspective isn’t always easy. But I believe we can hold onto our faith and values while also showing compassion, respect, and understanding toward people who have different experiences. For me, disagreeing with the idea that Pride is the devil is not about attacking anyone’s religion. It’s about recognizing that every person deserves to be treated with kindness and respect.
