For some reason, this app is not working right. It keeps deleting my recordings! So very annoying! One of the things that you learn in human communications is that it is imperative that we listen to understand. When we remind ourselves to do this, we disengage our implicit bias. Our bias is created through our own, lived experiences so those moments where we felt unheard, unseen, and our needs not met we remember those and compare those with our experiences. This is why when we say this is going to be an unpopular opinion we are using a defensive framing tactic, so the backlash will not be as harsh. One of the things that I’ve learned through my academic work, thousands of interviews at this point and my own live experience has informed me on how often times we are somewhat forced to perform normalcy, and when it falls out of the lines what it can be as a group of people with pitchforks acting like we’re on Lord of the flies and The person that’s the outsider is piggy who ultimately is decimated by a rock being rolled on his head. Sometimes in this community in all communities this occurrence can happen not just the blind one. You’re not smart enough, don’t seem mentally fit or even you’re just an outsider with a different loop experience yet it’s all the same when we piggyback and make people feel as if they’re inadequate and inferior we should look at the reasons why their behavior is bothering you if it’s not hurting, you are harming you physically. there is the scroll button. There is a way to just bypass post and you should use those measures and tactics to protect your sanity. People say and do things to be provocative because they’re getting the attention they want. Social media is a place to connect communicate and gather more resources. In every group there’s going to be a specific hierarchy based on what your ideological beliefs are. And when we start remembering that and just be like it is what it is it was what it was and let it go then we can keep moving forward. who cares what this person is doing it unless it is directly harming you when we say if some person does this, their harming the community or making the community look bad that is a logical fallacy and we need to make sure that we don’t do those things because plumbing people together in one category. I never will take cues from the colonizer playbook because one they were the ones that. Created the concept of normalcy and tied it to productivity and how people moved and operated in society. Looking at how apps are set up what people have access to the skills they’ve required through training is something that we must remember that everyone does not have access to. So when you pair those things together, you can have a different perspective. It’s a choice to not let people simply exist.

to be honest man, it's really not that deep. None of this is. Now, the particular post you address is, in all fairness, funny as fuck! Like she deliberately went out of her way to actually censor herself. Idk why, but that shit's hilarious. Furthermore, to your point that this somehow reflects negatively upon us, or that this is somehow purely an indictment on blind people as a whole, once again, it's not that deep. Spend some time on tiktok or YouTube watching brainrot content. I'd be happy to post some links in here for your reference. The tragic fact is that a sighted person that wishes to see you as having lower cognitive function purely cuz your eyes do not work will not be swayed by anything you do. To that person, you will always be a miserable wretch devoid of agency. There's a line between poking a lil fun and just straight up punching down on someone, and you, my friend, I'm afraid have crossed that line. And fuck. That's me saying that lmfaooo. I don't wish to assume things, bro, but it seems like you have a deep-seated fear of standing out, of being left behind and excluded by your peers. I say this cuz, tbh, I too have that intrinsic fear, and sentiments such as the ones you express can easily be based on that fear: this idea of being quick to cast out the problematic member of the tribe because they are, "making us look bad". I would invite you, if I may, to steer your gaze towards the people in our community who are doing actual harm to actual members of it: the predators, cheaters, swindlers and reprobates of our community. They're the ones making us look bad. They'r the ones actually harming people and taking advantage of them. Truly, what harm is Miss broakma Damn Keyboard doing?

Could someone tell me the name of the post, so that way I know what to look for?

Lol Casey yeah I listened to her whole post and I was dying. Because who the fuck types like that? I feel bad for that keyboard. And the part where she was bleeping out all her cuss words, that was hellarious too😂 I don't know her, but I can just tell she's definitely got some issues and she needs help. Because who gets mad about something like that? I can see why people would criticize her for that. That's crazy.

I guess it’s not just the need to constantly make posts calling on everyone to pile on someone having a mental health episode, it’s the fact that you seem to want to couch it in your Oso admirable concern for the blind community that seems sketchy as well

Just because somebody says, “we’ve been handed the baton “, doesn’t actually mean that’s the case. If other people choose to be ambassadors for the blind, go right ahead. More power to you. Have at it. Not me, however. Ain’t happening.

Wow! Some people are so intolerant of others abilities and disabilities. People on here aren't only just Blind, they may have other disabilities. You complain about other people ranting when you're actually ranting yourself. Comments on here about people with possible psychiatric problems, there but for fortune go you or I. if somebody puts an eight minute run up, there is a stop button, you don't have to listen, you can swipe past. Just like if you're in a bar and somebody is mouthing off loudly, you don't have to listen, you can leave the bar. go on any social media platform and you'll find the same thing, it's not just a blind world. The whole population is a melting pot of mixed up emotions feelings thoughts likes and dislikes.

By all means, everyone should always be themselves as authentic as possible, no matter what that looks like, and multi disabled people definitely don’t get a pass, I could fall in that category easily. I think it’s because everyone walks around on eggshells around these people that you perceived to be weaker because of it in multiple disability or something.

Meh. As a fully blind individual who has spent 90% of their time on the Internet and what one might call “sighted” spaces, the idea that this reflects at all on the blind community doesn’t seem to match reality. On *all* social media platforms, no matter how big, no matter how small, no matter if they’re about anything in the world or they are about extremely niche topics, “whining, crying, tantrum throwing, emotion spilling, over revealing spew” is almost always the default. And this goes for people who are completely mentally sound, with jobs and family lives and who, from the outside at least, seem to have it all figured out and put together nicely. Social media in general, no matter which kind, always just seems to bring out the worst in a lot of people. So next time you hear something in this app that makes you cringe, pop on over to Facebook or Reddit or X or any niche communities you might be a part of. Guarantee you it’s 30 seconds before you find something equally as embarrassing, if not more so.

You do not see sighted people going around and saying, such and such happened, so I am now embarrassed to be a part of this community now. It's one person, that's it. That does not reflect on all blind or partially sighted people. And if it did, what a shame that would be.
