Meg, you're absolutely right. We can't always do things on our own and need help. Independence is knowing when to ask for help so we can further our independence.

Mark, you mentioned that your friends and your rehab workers and you’re side wife help you figure it out which is a valid point. I have been told that I need to figure these things out myself which brings up the topic of independence. We can’t have others do everything for us, but I think that asking for help is very appropriate. The way I view independence, is that I can do things on my own but still need help from others to get started or get going and help on my terms, not on the terms of somebody who thinks that I’m completely disabled. At the risk of being long-winded or trying to appear right, I would argue that if cited people are just as dependent on grocery stores to get them their food then why can’t blind people be somewhat dependent on site assistance or artificial intelligence or whatever works for them to get help for themselves? I appreciate the tips and will work around it in the available time that I have and hopefully maybe one day to an update for you guys.

I appreciate everyone’s comments although I wish I wouldn’t feel judged for just doing takeout or not making sandwiches. I hope that’s not what you’re trying to do, but I’ve seen so many people just with that mentality like you either cook or starve or get a heart attack by doing takeout. Ultimately right now I want to do what works for me and for my way of life. All of that aside, I will definitely Give more specific tips next time. I just wanted general ideas for now and maybe Ira can help. Slowly getting used to this new phone and everything and I appreciate everyone’s patience and time.

There’s also voice assistant air fryers like Alexa or any other
Penny
First, make sure that your dad actually has an accessible air fryer because a lot of of them are touchscreen and you can't really put any dots on it. Unless you can see the screen to set the temperature yourself. Also, does he have a basket style air fryer or does it look more like an oven? These will be helpful to know so that we can give you proper tips
