I'm sorry you're dealing with this. This isn't the first time I've heard of what you're dealing with. I'm not a Christian myself, I'm a Druid which is a branch of Celtic paganism. But all that aside, I'd encourage anyone who is dealing with ideologues to study the BITE model of cults: Behavior, Information, Thought and Emotions, the four things religions and ideologies control. Language is one of those things. Controlling language is the way to control what can or cannot be said. You know, the Romans called Christians atheists for not following the Roman gods, just like some fundamental Christians have done the same with me for venerating the Old Gods of my Celtic ancestors. The moment people take control of language like this, you know it's manipulation. If not, they would have given you a new word for the same thing. Like Little Person instead of midget. You're dealing with a great expression of ego in the driver's seat, and I'm sorry you were the brunt of it.
