  Hey Anthony, I never had that problem before on messenger and I've been using messenger basically my adult life. I've been using it my entire adult life.

  Maybe try googling this problem? I wonder if it has been talked about or maybe Facebook has something in their help section about it? Maybe also the next update of the Facebook app or messenger app might fix it? Just trying to come up with more solutions to help! Good luck!

  So since messenger is a part of Facebook itself what about logging out of your Facebook app entirely and then logging back in? Maybe that will fix the messenger problem? Or maybe try contacting Facebook? This doesn’t seem right to me! I would be really careful!

  I don't think it's a scam, because no matter the message thread, I get the same prompt. There's no cancel button, only a back button. No matter how many times I click into any Messenger conversation, this identity check comes up. I can still send WhatsApp message, and I can still post on Facebook itself.
