Well I have a mini rechargeable taser with a flashlight on it although I don't need a flashlight. I also have a little bottle of pepper spray mix with tear gas that is military graded. Someone used it on a bear and ran a bear away, so I guess that's strong enough. It also has a dye in it that the police can detect you for 48 hours as the attacker. If anyone is interested I can post the links because I got them from Amazon, and I know there are certain laws for certain states. I have not looked up if I'm allowed to have these items and technically I don't care. My safety is more important than getting in trouble for defending myself at the moment. I also have a small mini wooden bat I don't mind using as well.

I wonder if the law gives allowances for certain people. I think it is completely understandable and I think it should be completely legal for a blind people to be able to carry. Carry something. I remember hearing the story once about a young college student who was so far surfing at a fellow college mates apartment. He was asleep on the sofa when some of the residents friends came over. One friend got particularly rowdy and decided to challenge the sleeping blind student on the sofa. It was totally unprovoked. The blind man, and his own defense, obviously did not know what was going on and put that out of control FRIEND in a headlock. Yes, the out of control FRIEND lost his life in the struggle. The blind man got off because it was understood that he was at a disadvantage not knowing anything about what was going on and it was in total self-defense. I'm not a lawyer so I can't remember all the particulars. But he got off. The line man. He was found not guilty. And yes, the verdict was based primarily on his visual loss. Coupled with it being unprovoked attack while he was sleeping. But I'm just saying. I like that idea about the pepper gel. Does Amazon sell that??

Pepper spray is no longer recommended for civilian use due to blowback and environmental contamination plus ignorance of use. Pepper gel spray is considered to he better. Amazon carries a lot of self-defense items also. Always check local laws for regulations on blades and potential weapons, as well as carrying firearms or tasers. Don’t get in trouble for self defense.

I saw Pat's story. It's scary. I do not think I am particularly prepared. I am not a very timid person so I believe that I will have some fight in me. But, I don't know for sure. But I do not carry any weapons. Perhaps I should. I had a self-defense class many many years ago And it was a great experience. I still remember a lot of what they taught us. I think men and women need self-defense classes. and about pepper spray. I used to carry some years ago. Perhaps I should get some more. I'm going to check out that website.
