Speaking of communication and voices, have you heard of the recent improvements to DECTalk? It’s version 4.99 though, but now it sounds a little bit like version 4.2 CD in terms of it being similar to the hardware. Somebody was able to actually make it sound that way recently.

Oh wow. Too bad somebody didn’t compile this version in a speak window yet, but I’m sure we’ll get there. But yeah, I’ve actually been testing it, and it sounds so close. Too bad they didn’t use the 4.0 voice ROMs, but my guess it’s likely that this was pointed specifically at 4.2 CD. Either that, or 4.3, I think it’s a hybrid of both versions.
