For the people commenting about recording adults in public spaces, I'm pretty sure that's not what Calum is talking about. I think, and anyone please correct me if I'm wrong, he specifically talking about recording private conversations, private events, and children. If a parent posts a ramble with their own child in it, that's fine as the parent is consenting on behalf of the child. If someone posts a ramble with a child in it, that is not theirs, that could be a problem. We would expect that common sense dictates that you do not post someone else's child anywhere on the Internet without the parents of that child giving consent. Unfortunately, common sense is not so common anymore. The issue I can find is that a report button can only do so much. You can definitely report a ramble that has a recording of you in it, of course assuming you yourself did not give consent. If someone posts a ramble that has a recording of someone else in it, unless that person specifically states they did not give consent, we have no way of knowing. What about people posting rambles with recordings of people who do not have/do not know about this app and therefore cannot report it. We should absolutely use the report feature when/if we know, and can prove, that someone has been recorded without their consent. We also should accept the responsibility of policing our own. The oldie but goody if you see something, say something. A parent posts a ramble with their child in it of something that is probably best kept private/uncomfortable or embarrassing for the child, call it out. Someone records something with a child that is not theirs in it, ask questions. We have to use our brains here. If a recording sounds like it might be private, it probably is, so ask questions. If you hear a post that has someone in it and you don't know if they are OK being there, ask them. Let them know. A lot of problems can get solved if most of us just agree to specific standards of practice and enforce them.

If this post is in response to the user who played back recordings, I think this app should stay as it is. That was hilarious and clever content. It also shows that what we post online stays online forever, even if we delete it.

Re: photos, it’s apparently becoming more common where I live for professional photographers to blur out people in the background. I approve
