What I did in an earlier comment here was not a coping mechanism for me but represents a sort of thing I do for amusement now and then. I think the last time I did something like that was sometime last year, but making odd sounds out of ordinary things was a huge amusement, even a pastime for me when I was a kid. I might still make a funny sound with a soda can or bottle now and then although I don't drink soda more than a few times a year anymore for health reasons.

First part reminds me of the sound I got by stirring cocoa mix into milk or water in a pottery-type coffee cup.
