I definitely should, but it’s funny how a sound can just become so much a part of your environment that you don’t even realise it until someone else points it out.

I think it's just the auditory equivalent of being nose blind. That's why you know, people don't realize that their house has a certain smell until they've been away from it for a time etc. etc. Anyway, I am more likely to hear a chirping smoke detector in an American audio post. I was super tickled when a famous celebrity was doing an Instagram post, and I definitely could hear their smoke detector chirping in the background and I was just made to realize, that even money can't buy you a ladder high enough to reach the ceiling of your mansion to change something as simple as a smoke detector . Even celebrities, with oodles of money, and an entourage who no doubt could easily do that, still let the smoke detector chirp on and on. 🙃🚭🪫
