For me, it depends on how badly the relationship ended. If the relationship ended on good terms, or if it was a mutual breakup, then it’s easier for me to be friends with Z X. However, if the relationship ended badly, then it’s not so easy. I think it all just depends, really.

I am friends with most of my exes. I’ve have always worked on remaining or rebuilding the friendship. Sometimes that’s easier said than done. Saying I am still friends with them does not mean that we hangout or talk often, but we do still keep in contact from time to time. Sometimes the damage is done and there’s no way to repair things. For myself, I have three exes that I have completely cutout, shutout and blocked from any contact. Fortunately, out of all the ladies I have dated in my life time, not one of them has completely cut me out of their lives. So that means even though I have fucked up a lot in various releationships, I did not damage things so bad that we couldn’t repare the friendship.
