  I know this is older but in publishing, we call that Middle Grade. I like the authors work, but one other middle grade author I highly recommend is one called Andrew Clements. I would recommend his book, Frindle. I would highly recommend the audiobook, you don’t know everything Jilly P. By Alex Chino.
