Yes there are dice rolling bots you can put on a Discord server and I think there's also some built-in dice rolling that you can always use. I'm not sure about the specifics. I also remember a page someone shared with me for one online campaign that let you pick the type and number of dice to roll, but that url is on a computer that's buried in storage and hasn't been touched for years. The dice add an element of randomness which keeps things interesting, and combat is definitely where you do the most rolling, but every campaign is different and some have more roleplay while some use more dice.
