Birthdays, Aging, and the Societal Nonsense Behind Them

I tend not to listen to society so I do what I want. I celebrate quietly with my family and might go out with a few friends. I even have cake and/or ice cream because I still enjoy acting like a kid at times, and I’m sixty. Life is for living, not obeying society.
@user340929 You are who I aspire to be when I am your age.

I actually agree with everything you said. It’s the same with Christmas as well. People make it all about the children, and there doesn’t seem to be anything in it for the rest of us. I don’t go by society’s stupid labels. For me, child, teenager, and adult are all just labels put on us by society. I don’t go by those. I enjoy every birthday I’ve got. Like it’s the last because you only get one birthday a year, and I couldn’t give a damn what anybody says. My birthday is my special day, even if it’s not to anybody else. It certainly is to me. And to be honest, my birthdays are never dull. I always get good presents off my dad every year.

I really liked what you have to say here, and I really do think it’s tied to ageism
