Katya that is historical perspective I lack. Edlin lol I can picture what that program does based on the name! I have started learning sed and bash for linux which is a trip but so cool and smooth when it works!

Jo I relate to your story of being startled receiving the win95/98 "This program has performed an illegal operation" message! Me and my father would assign sound effects to the different evennts and we had assigned Daffy Duck saying "What a revolting development this is!" to that, which made it all the more startling!

Blind Tech I too had a vision teacher! She would come out to my school just to transcribe my homework, then my math homework as we started to use laptops for everything *but* math. I understand the kids today have much more in terms of math braille technology than I had but I am glad I learned Nemeth back in the day. And I was finishing college when the BrailleNote Apex came out, but I had a braille n speak as a kid. Some might recognize me from the BT Speak list (I'm on that a lot - that's the new braille n speak from the Blazies that is out now!) I had a pacmate which was the absolute worst and embarrassed me many a time in math class as it rebooted while I attempted to use it to do my notes. The BrailleNote was so snappy and I knew what I was missing when I finally saw one.

I have heard of the Talking Typer app. There was one named Talking Typing Teacher that used Eloquence to speak its messages. Was Talking Typer voiced by a human?

Maybe the computer can cushion us from the explosion lol!

I turned it on and it said, "I want to play a game." at which point I knew I either needed to learn to use my computer or be a blind person trying to survive a nuclear exchange.
