TODAY, they're called: "PLATFORMS," but in the BEGINNING, whenever THAT was, I WONDER what the VERY FIRST (BEFORE the INTERNET) "PHONEWORLD NETWORK," if you will, might've been. For ME, MY OFFICIAL introduction, CERTAINLY NOT INCLUDING SUBSEQUENT TIMES of while boarding in the same house that my late great-grandmother ALSO boarded, whose phone I used for calling those HORRENDOUSLY EXPENSIVE (1-900)-based direct premium numbers, that I created a "GINORMOUSLY MONSTEROUS" bill that took MULTIPLE FOREVERS to re-imberse her ALL of the money, which I'm ABSOLUTELY GLAD that I DID while she was alive and functional enough to ROYALLY WHIP MY ASS for DOING that, BTW, was to one of the "TALKEE (believe it or NOT, the seemingly VERY FEW that ACTUALLY EXIST TODAY are on what COULD be "LIFE-SUPPORT," IF THAT) lines through a rigged toll-free number (who remembers "THE EIGHTS?")--TO BE CONTINUED
