It does nothing except for security fixes. There is a list of like 30 security fixes on Apple’s website, but that’s literally the only thing new
I kind of figured. Because I know they like to do in between really really big updates is a bunch of little security ones as a just in case.

And I know depending on specific updates, I know that some of them can potentially help or hinder battery life.

Yeah, there is a pretty set schedule to this stuff by now. X.0 in September, X.1 in late October, X.2 in mid-December, X.3 in late January, X.4 in late March to early April, X.5 in May, X.6 in July, and X.7 along with the new X.0 in September. Usually the only updates that add a significant amount of features and changes are X.0 (obviously), X.1, X.2 and X.4. Apple even develops the X.0 and X.4 updates at the same time, one marked as a fall release and one as a spring release. If you look at website analytics, they are already testing 27.4 as we speak. X.3, X.5, X.6 and X.7 are almost every single year purely dedicated to cleanup, and double point updates (like 26.5.1 or 26.5.2) never have any new features and are always purely security and bug fix updates.

Thank you for the information. Here's another weird question. I have everything in the settings turned off pertaining to brightness like true tone for example. Why does my phone at any point that I try to turn down the brightness it just either goes up or down up or down like I'm holding it in certain lighting and it seems like it makes these different fluctuations it's so freaking weird. Am I tripping or is this common?

The setting you are looking for is located in settings, accessibility, display in text size, and then all the way at the bottom. Turn off auto brightness
