Shared Audio - Imagine if Eloquence sounded like this, a DoubleTalk inflection prototype attempt that I did!

Wow that is indeed an interesting variation on our almost 30-year-old theme. I played with eci.ini years ago, found its format was quite rigid and changing character counts could produce truly unholy results lol; but I didn't keep at it long enough to figure out if that file alone could do anything like this.

Yep, and now we have an open EVV project which essentially lets you play with the synthesizer in hole. I replaced most, if not all the inflection contours in there now.

very interesting. But, I don't care what you do to elegant eloquence how you dress it up how you inflect it, it's still going to sound robotic and unappealing in my opinion

I find Eloquence much easier to understand than eSpeak, a frustration since eSpeak is a lot easier to get working in non-JAWS situations, meaning NVDA and Linux mostly. This is odd, because my favorite synth of all time was Artic Technologies' Business Vision with the SynPhonix card, which I could use at the top rate of around 400 WPM and which was the most responsive synth I've ever seen even to this day. That one was robotic to just about everyone else lol.

Well, there’s one thing we haven’t done yet, hook it up to a neural model and see if inflection can be extracted from it.

Eloquence is probably one of the most sophisticated in terms of language parsing.

And if anyone has a synthesizer they would like me to try to transplant into Eloquence’s intonation, let me know! I know a lot of people are making emulators now.
