But don’t we all have security blankets as adults like Charlie Brown did? My dad loves country music. If I told him to turn that crap off and shut it up forever, I’m sure he would feel disrespected.

Thank you, Artemis. I mean that’s the thing I’ve always struggled to just turn it off like I’m 41 now and even at 1516 I have teachers who started to say OK when you’re at home in your private world you play with toys you play with dolls, but when you go to school, you fit in with the other kids you do sports you do bowling and you do basketball and you do what the other kids do and I shaped into the mall and I fit in as much as I could, but I just never got interested in things like they did. And maybe I wasn’t assertive enough or maybe I didn’t know how to handle peer pressure or set boundaries, but even if I did, there was a lot of pushback like no matter what I wanted to do the kids were like you either can’t see or we don’t wanna do what you wanna do because you’re really a weird blob of a thing. It sucked.
