I haven't heard of the app you mentioned. I've used BlindSquare on an iPhone, even used it to find and walk to a coffee shop in a totally unfamiliar city once. I asked a passerby which side of the street it ws on once I was within 50 yards or so but otherwise didn't need any help as far as I recall. I haven't used that app in years by now but only because I haven't traveled a lot lately.
