it may be that the app is lazy-loading to make itself seem faster to users accustomed to scrolling quickly through a lot. have you tried toggling "reduce motion" on an iPhone: Settings > Accessibility > Motion > Reduce Motion: Off. For Maria's fb jumping to the top, have you tried Settings > General > Background App Refresh > Facebook: Off to stop it from pulling new posts while you're reading

Yeah, this exact thing has been happening to me. The sound it makes his like a notification is coming through. I accidentally double tapped when it happened and it opened up the menu so apparently it’s refocusing on the menu button at the top.
