That's awesome!

And that was exactly what my online radio station was, mostly me playing music I liked, with a few jingles and commercials I made myself. Sometimes, I would broadcast myself playing audio games. My station was not really meant to be public, unless it somehow became that way. I did not have a lot of listeners, and those who tuned in were there mostly for the music. When the station was around, I did not need any music services, because I could just take any jingles or commercials I didn't want out of the auto DJ, and I would have Music play straight through.

Thanks for all the responses here! :) While I agree Internet, slash comunity stations are very rewarding and amazing projects to be a part of! The original post is more specifically alluding to building a radio station for you, with music taylored to what you personally want to hear. If your just diving into the comments, please listen to the original post to see how a Personalised station is relevant

Yes Drew we did just that for a good number of years, however at that time we had the staff numbers to help us run that. In late 2022 we started podcasting our shows in case people missed something. But when of our co founders quit the team, we were unable to keep it up due to costs and the lack of staff we had at the time. So we convered converted the hole thing into a podcast on demand service instead.

Yes, building an online radio station was a lot of fun when I built mine back in 2019. Not sure if it is still running, since I have not updated the content in almost a year.

I thought about it a bit I used to make tapes as a kid and pretend I was on the radio and really take it seriously
