I'm actually glad to see this here because it gives me a reason to try codex. I always assumed it would be worse for some reason, no idea why. I'll have to revise that though it seems. I've been messing around with claude code and it does well, but especially in the new versions, I'll have to agree with Luke. The symbol nonsense is no good. Also for me it displays a bunch of numbers, I assume progress indicator stuff, which makes it even more annoying to find out what is occurring. One thing though, it seems that codex mentions not being very windows friendly. Could someone who knows more elaborate on this? I know you can install it through either wsl or npm. Not sure which one is better, if it even matters.
