I am not sure what is going on with the Envision glasses. That being said, I understand the feeling of missing technology that used to just work. I remember years ago when the Google assistant used to work. Then, they gutted it, so now, when I want to translate something, I can't because I get the message, sorry I don't understand. There is Gemini, but it is not the same. Glide is a very promising technology. Of course, it does not replace the real thing, but, it does give you a guide without the extra responsibilities. And it is also good for those who are alergic to dogs. I have been around long enough to see good technology come and go, but the sad feeling of knowing it is no longer there is still there. Winamp was another example, that player was a beast, until it stopped being developed. I am sure there are alternatives, but they are not the same. I used to have a clock with fifteen different melodies and 4 alarms. It would tell you the time and indoor temperature. It was a struggle to set up, but I was able to do it through muscle memory. They don't make them anymore, I think they stopped making them when I was a Freshman in high school, which was more than 20 years ago. That clock got me through school, the alarms were so shrill they woke me up right away. Sadly, one of my younger siblings borrowed it, and I never got it back.
