That poem was absolutely amazing Alyssa. Thank you so much for sharing. It took me a while to get there but that poem speaks my language now. I'm there. I remember I had a boyfriend living with me who kept threatening to leave. And every time he did, I begged him to stay. And then one day I told myself. Let him. And that's what I did. The next time he threatened, I just sat there. I watched him pack up his things And he left. I didn't say anything to him. I figured that he's grown and he did not need to be anywhere he did not want to be. It hurt. But that was the reality of the situation. He did not want to be here. So many lines in that poem resonated with real areas of my life. Again thank you

That reminds me of this poem by cassie phillips: "Just let them. If they want to choose something or someone over you, LET THEM. If they want to go weeks without talking to you, LET THEM. If they are okay with never seeing you, LET THEM. If they are okay with always putting themselves first, LET THEM. If they are showing you who they are and not what you perceived them to be, LET THEM. If they want to follow the crowd, LET THEM. If they want to judge or misunderstand you, LET THEM. If they act like they can live without you, LET THEM. If they want to walk out of your life and leave, hold the door open, AND LET THEM. Let them lose you. You were never theirs because you were always your own. So let them.”
