Fortunately, I don’t have many stairs up to my house. I think there are two parts to this question: first, how do you instruct your DoorDash driver to deliver the food or item to the correct location? Second, how is the exchange facilitated? I have never ordered groceries through an online application, so my experience is limited to ordering meals. From using DoorDash for a while, I have learned that using the last four digits of my phone number helps ensure that the person delivering my food has the correct order and is delivering it to the right location. I think this is a setting you can turn on for doordash. In the past, I have had issues where my orders were placed in the wrong locations, resulting in me having to order the same meal twice. As for the second part, when my meal is delivered, I typically have my palms facing upward so the Dasher knows to place the food directly into my hands. If I notice a slight disconnect between myself and the Dasher, I usually mention that I am blind, and they make sure that I have a secure hold on both my food and drink. That is how I have historically exchanged packages and meals when using those apps - and so far, no accidents have happened
