    Re: bribery. This is jjust more direct. All elections are briberies, otherwise what's the point of voting for some wanker I don't care about unless I believe it can enhance my life or other people's lives in some meaningful way. If he had said he'd cut taxes for everyone by 5000 would this be any different?

    A cut would only affect those who pay tax, those who don't earn enough to pay tax wouldn't benefit from a cut but would it benefit greatly from $5000 gift. But that will probably be taxable. 🤣

    It's semantics really. I see nothing wrong with it. The bigger problem is the lying about all the shit that they aim to achieve; at least 5000 dollars is a clear goal you can point to and say "you did this" or the negative equivalent. I don't believe for a second that they intend to follow through, but if they did I wouldn't sweat about it.

    I agree with this post, but I also think it’s important to keep in mind that we do not have real elections here. We have almost no representative government at this point, and forms of descent are being criminalized
