I think your best bet would be to save your audio diaries on a pen drive. This way, you won't have to rely on any specific app or cloud storage, and they’ll stay with you offline. Even if those recordings eventually take up hundreds of gigs of storage, you'd end up having to pay for some fucking subscription that might not even be affordable five years from now. Therefore, I think recording them with an adjustable sampling rate and bitrate will prove to be a lifesaver, rather than dealing with these fucking asses.

Thank you for the information. I will look on the App Store and see if I can find a iOS client, are there any other recommendations just in case I can’t find it?

On Android, "Files by Google" likely provides a feature called "Safe folder" where one can keep all their files and folders protected. Now, I haven’t personally tested whether it uses the lock screen password or its own unique one. Even though this is quite Android-centric, I’m mentioning it just in case there is an iOS client available for it as well.
