@Dannotations I don't know how many other people will listen to your whole comment, but I did and I really appreciate the perspective and empathy. It's in short supply.

Artemis, yes it’s been addressed by multiple platforms and rideshare like Uber and Lyft because of safety for women and you do now have that option to request for a woman driver

The American council of the Blind ACB actually passed a resolution so that they can address this situation regarding blind people and Uber drivers not speaking the same language. Here’s a link to it. Resolution 2023-13 Ride-Sharing and Communication https://www.acb.org/2023-resolutions

Bad customer service is bad customer service. I feel like if you’re not good with people you shouldn’t work in the industry.
Rondo
Matthew, you sound so stupid When you said people should not speak in their language in public mind blown She could post that this rambled was talking about not getting good enough customer service from people who don’t speak English. They’re not making an effort, but if the person was making an effort or anybody who speaks a different language is making the effort, why does it matter if they speak a different language? You took this ramble and made it about yourself and people from India. Majority of their name is not Mohammed that’s an Arab name idiot when it comes to the ramble I agree with pink heart. It is very unsafe and I’ve had multiple occasions where the driver has dropped off my significant other across the street and just left that is so dangerous definitely for blind individuals Matthew sorry not sorry

Yikes, I exceeded 10 minutes. There's a first time for everything. That's what happens when you can't keep track of how much time has elapsed. I congratulate anyone who listens to the end. :D

Might come back to repost a comment. My first one had too much background noise so I deleted it.

Damn that’s so true respect honestly, we have that same problem but it’s horrible up here in Canada we had a lot of people coming in the past few years probably about 3 4 5 million with a country of like 40 million so that’s like 10% of the population since the Covid era anyways a lot of them come from the Middle East India Pakistan that area and I absolutely mean no disrespect none whatsoever. I actually made a few friends over the past few years with a few Middle Eastern bros but you know it is what it is. I guess the cultural shift has been crazy. I guess for I guess everyone involved but like a lot are into customer service like restaurants, drive-through’s service hotlines taxi/Uber’s, etc. and there are 100% those language barriers and they refuse to learn it gets crazy sometimes a lot of people get frustrated at you for not understanding them honestly here’s an example of this one time this past fall I was in a backseat and I was ordering at a drive-through and this dude didn’t understand me and he thought I was insulting him when I was trying my best to speak clearly, and he wanted to run outside and meet me for a fair one like come on lol anyways those are my thoughts and thanks for sharing this sentiment and to add one more thing here I respect all people love all peoples as long as you’re respectful to me, thanks for reading.

I think it’s a good thing that people are finally starting to recognize thisz, it’s a real problem if you’re blind and traveling a lot.
