I yelled in concert one time while pressing down the sustaining pedal, and I did the exact same thing without the susstaining pedal—big differences!

The thing you’re talking about is called sympathetic resonance. We get it a lot with guitar because of having open strings. I love open tunings and playing fretted notes against open strings. So satisfying.

,paulUK I don't know if you're willing to try this... but if you  holler into the string of your piano, and then try the exact same thing but this time with your right pedal down, you'll hear something interesting. I think you already knew that though.

I really miss my grand piano at home. Don't know if I will be getting a better piano, but I think that one might be stuck with me forever! I'm not in my home country though. And here's the fun part: it hasn't been tuned for 5 years! 🤣 Yeah, talk about playing with someone else and asking them to detune their instruments 🤣!
