Oh yeah, that happens to me sometimes and I have answered with the two finger double tap. But I didn’t know that was the reason until like I did it a third time lol. I thought it was just because the signal was bad.

Well, at this current time when I got the call I was only connected to my Bluetooth keyboard, and I don’t think I would’ve pressed anything to hang the call up, I remember it happened another time with the update I’m on where I was listening to music on my headphones, and I answered the call the way you usually do with your headphones, so I guess they’re a possibility that I could’ve accidentally hung up. Dude like I don’t even know, I’m not sure if it’s a bug or if I’m doing something wrong, but I guess we’ll see. In the meantime, I’ll just try and get used to not magic tapping for awhile LOL.

Do you have Bluetooth devices connected to your phone where doing a magic tap might cause it to hang up? I'm just trying to help you figure this out because I know how annoying this must be. Apple has definitely been slow with fixing bugs lately. There's currently a bug in the music app where when you try to look at the song lyrics it just shows up as buttons and you don't actually see the text of the lyrics with voiceover. This bug has been fixed over and over again, but for some reason it seems to continue to pop back up occasionally. Then it will take a few software versions to get fixed and then it will eventually break again.

Go into settings and then the phone app and look at the options in there. Sounds like you might have blocked unknown contacts turned on or perhaps send unknown contact to voicemail or something like that. There were some new features and options added to iOS 26 to give you power to do that.

This is interesting, I get calls all the time from people who are not in my contacts and I've never had one disconnect. Wonder what's going on?
